The best strategy is to wittle away the yellow skitter from around the alpha, and to finally catch the alpha once it's alone. There's no very easy way to go about catching a red skitter. There are a couple of swarms found around the Sour-fish and Tiger-shark area. It can be challenging to catch a red skitter as the whole swarm moves very quickly, and is a bit deeper than the surface level.
